Public health professionals work to improve the health of families and communities by promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing disease, and removing environmental dangers. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in collaboration with your county public health office oversees a variety of research, response and prevention programs to protect your health.
The Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) program, required by California Health and Safety Code Sections 106600-106735, is administered by the Environmental Management Branch. The REHS program ensures that individuals who are REHSs have met prescribed education, training, and experience requirements and have passed a comprehensive examination reflective of the demands encountered within the environmental health profession.
As a division of the Public Health Department, the Ventura County Emergency Medical Services Agency provides system guidance and oversight through pre-hospital provider driven policy development and a comprehensive quality improvement program.

The Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) is an accrediting body charged with the review and accreditation of EMS continuing education (CE).
CAPCE accreditation exists so that EMS providers have access to high quality, standard-driven continuing education activities and are awarded credit for participating in such activities.

The Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers (OTPTAT) Board is responsible for the regulation of the practice of occupational therapy, physical therapy, athletic training, orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics in the State of Ohio. The board was established in 1976 as the Occupational Therapy Board. In 1977, regulation of physical therapy was transferred from the Medical Board to the Ohio Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Board. In 1990, licensure of athletic trainers was added to the responsibility of the Ohio OTPTAT Board. In 2018, the board began oversight of orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics.
