What is Beryllium?

Beryllium is a strong and lightweight metal with a wide array of uses in telecommunications, the aerospace industry, and medical and nuclear industries, to name a few. While end products are not a source of hazardous beryllium, those involved in its processing, such as foundry workers, fabricators, refining, abrasive blasting, and more, are potentially exposed to the hazardous elements of the metal.

While regulations addressing beryllium exist in the General Industry, Construction, and Maritime sectors, this course is designed for workers in General Industry and Maritime who may be exposed to beryllium.
